Homo technicus vs Homo sapiens

The photography project presents a different perspective on some of the most famous artworks from around the world by making models and superimposing computer parts on them.

Homo technicus is a modern representative of the human species that thrives in habitats with a constant presence of screens and displays. It prefers to build its world through practices and technologies of the digital space and social networks. It looks for inspiration in new technologies, but still does not forget to look back to the great established creators of the age of Homo sapiens. Nowadays, almost every Homo technicus has heard of the Mona Lisa, the famous self-portraits of Van Gogh or Frida Kahlo. It is not by chance that these works are defined as “Great Art”, which reaches the depths of the human soul. It has established itself over the centuries and is an inspiration even today.

Concept

Homo sapiens, also called intelligent man, is a species of large mammal, distinguished by his desire to understand and influence the world around him. In search of perfection,he develops a sense of beauty, aesthetics and a desire for self-expression, which leads to cultural innovations such as art, literature and music.

Its population began to decrease at the end of the 20th century, as the next species – Homo technicus – appeared evolutionarily. This led to the exponential development of new technologies, digital devices, artificial intelligence, social apps and others.
